The SH-HN series are protein retarders specially developed and produced. They are applied for all types of natural gypsum or gypsum based materials. When mixed into gypsum-based material, the protein will combine with calcium ions and cover the dihydrate gypsum surface. This will reduce the surface energy of crystal nucleus to restrain its growth. But it will not change the crystal nucleus morphology to affect the gypsum strength. Large number of experiments show a result that the parameter of gypsum coagulation time and protein retarder using amount is linear. However the curve graph will increase rapidly after a certain dosage by using organic acid and alkaline phosphate retarders. This is the significant advantage of protein retarder which will lead better operation and control in actual use.
